"The small tower standing on a hill in Pildammsparken was once a water tower. At the foot of the hill, over 400 years ago, Malmö's drinking water history began when Korrebäcken was dammed up and the first Pildammen was created. The water from Pildammen was led through wooden pipelines to a well at Stortorget, where the inhabitants of Malmö fetched their drinking water.
In 1903, the water tower was built and was designed by architect Harald Boklund. Today, 100 years later, the tower is used as an exhibition space during the summer. Many Malmö residents walk or jog past the tower every day."
